Cassandra and Artem

This is Cassandra and Artem's house in Fairbanks.  Gregg and Ruth were diligent helpers packing.  Items they kept were trucked to Copper Center.  Cassandra and Artem got to spend some time at home before heading off to Russia.

It is always hard to say goodbye, but it will be a great adventure for the two newlyweds.

Cassandra's Clocks

Cassandra painted the faces of these two clocks to represent the time in Okinawa, Japan and Chishmy, Russia - the homes of the Halls and the Zhdanovs respectively.   Thank you, Cassandra, for doing such a great job representing these two cultures.

Baba-Yaga (Баба Яга) is a witch-like character in Slavic folklore. She flies around on a giant mortar or broomstick, kidnaps (and presumably eats) small children, and lives in a hut that stands on chicken legs.

In Japanese culture the Shisa lion dogs are guardians with magical properties and they have the power to repel evil spirits.  Beside the lion dogs is a tree with falling cherry blossoms.

Flowers

I stopped to take pictures of some flowers between Delta and Glennallen. These are some of my favorites.

Cassandra and Fluke

I had a very nice visit with Cassandra this week. She and Fluke keep me quite entertained.

Ayla's sundress

I got to make Ayla a sundress and hat. I posted the picture of the dress so Emily can see it before the package arrives. Of course the outfit will look much cuter on Ayla. :)
